BodyTite in Guadalajara, Mexico
BodyTite® is a minimally invasive body-contouring procedure that removes fat and tightens loose skin at the same time — through a tiny incision, using radiofrequency energy, with far less downtime than a surgical lift. It sits in the middle ground between traditional liposuction (which removes fat but does not tighten skin) and an excisional surgery like a tummy tuck or arm lift (which removes skin but requires longer scars and recovery). For patients with mild-to-moderate skin laxity, it can deliver firmer, smoother contours without large incisions. At Fibonacci Plástica, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Rigoberto Castellanos uses BodyTite to refine the abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs, and more — pairing the technology with full bilingual concierge support for patients traveling from the United States, Canada, and across Mexico, from virtual consultation through recovery.

What is BodyTite?
BodyTite is a radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) device that liquefies and removes fat while simultaneously heating the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and tighten tissue — all through one tiny incision, usually a few millimeters wide.
A thin probe delivers radiofrequency energy between an internal cannula and an external electrode, treating the fat and the skin in the same pass while continuously monitoring temperature for safety. The result is fat reduction with measurable skin contraction — something traditional liposuction cannot achieve on its own. BodyTite is best understood by where it sits on the contouring spectrum. It is more than liposuction (it tightens skin) but less invasive than a surgical lift (no long incisions, no large scars).
| Procedure | What it addresses |
|---|---|
| What it does | BodyTite: removes fat AND tightens skin. Liposuction: removes fat only. Surgical lift: removes excess skin (and often fat) |
| Invasiveness | BodyTite: minimally invasive — one tiny incision. Liposuction: minimally invasive — tiny incisions. Surgical lift: more invasive — longer incisions |
| Skin tightening | BodyTite: meaningful contraction for mild-to-moderate laxity. Liposuction: minimal. Surgical lift: maximal — physically excises loose skin |
| Scarring | BodyTite: tiny, often nearly invisible. Liposuction: tiny. Surgical lift: longer, permanent scar (well-placed) |
| Downtime | BodyTite: less — generally faster than excisional surgery. Liposuction: short. Surgical lift: longer recovery |
| Best for | BodyTite: mild-to-moderate laxity + stubborn fat. Liposuction: stubborn fat, good skin elasticity. Surgical lift: significant loose/hanging skin |

Are you a good candidate for BodyTite?
The best candidates are healthy adults with stubborn fat and mild-to-moderate skin laxity — people who want firmer skin and a smoother contour but don't have enough loose skin to need a full surgical lift. BodyTite bridges the gap for patients who are "too much" for liposuction alone but "not quite" ready for excisional surgery.
- Have localized, stubborn fat that resists diet and exercise
- Have mild-to-moderate skin laxity (early sagging, crepey or loose skin) rather than significant hanging skin
- Want skin tightening without the longer scars and downtime of a surgical lift
- Are at or near a stable, healthy weight
- Are a non-smoker, or can stop smoking well before and after the procedure
- Are in good general health with no uncontrolled conditions
- Have realistic expectations — firmer, smoother contours, not the dramatic skin removal of a lift
If you have significant loose or hanging skin (for example, after major weight loss or multiple pregnancies), a skin-removal procedure such as a tummy tuck or arm lift may give a better result. If skin laxity is minimal and you simply have stubborn fat, liposuction alone may be all you need. The consultation, not a checklist, determines the right plan.
What to expect during BodyTite
BodyTite is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or, for larger or combined treatments, general anesthesia — typically taking about one to three hours depending on the number and size of areas treated. The procedure takes place at Centro Médico Real San José – Valle Real, an accredited hospital in Guadalajara.
After anesthesia, Dr. Castellanos makes a tiny incision — usually just a few millimeters — near each treatment area, and tumescent fluid is infused to numb the tissue and minimize bleeding. The BodyTite probe is then introduced: an internal cannula delivers radiofrequency energy while an external electrode glides over the skin, so the device treats fat and skin simultaneously between the two. Built-in temperature sensors and automatic cut-off keep the energy within a safe, controlled range throughout. As the fat is liquefied and gently suctioned away, the radiofrequency heat contracts the deeper skin layers and stimulates new collagen, which continues firming the tissue over the following months. Because the incisions are so small, they often heal nearly invisibly. You are fitted with a compression garment and discharged with detailed post-operative instructions.

BodyTite recovery timeline
BodyTite recovery is generally faster and easier than an excisional surgical lift — most travel-in patients stay in Guadalajara for only a few days, with tiny incisions and less downtime overall. Swelling and skin tightening continue to improve gradually, and the full firming effect of new collagen develops over several months.
| Days 1–3 | Compression garment worn continuously; mild-to-moderate soreness, swelling, and bruising are normal; discomfort managed with medication |
|---|---|
| Days 4–7 | Soreness and bruising ease; short walks encouraged; follow-up with Dr. Castellanos before traveling home — many travel-in patients are cleared to fly within several days |
| Weeks 1–2 | Many return to desk work and light daily activity; compression garment continued as directed; skin already begins to feel firmer |
| Weeks 3–4 | Most normal activity resumes; strenuous exercise still limited until cleared; swelling steadily improving |
| Weeks 4–6 | Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting gradually resumed as cleared; contour and tightening more visible |
| Months 3–6 | Skin-tightening effect fully matures as new collagen develops; final, refined contour emerges; tiny incision marks fade |
Wearing your compression garment as directed supports smooth healing and the best final contour. Our bilingual concierge team stays available throughout recovery.
Benefits of BodyTite
BodyTite delivers fat reduction and skin tightening together, through a tiny incision, with less downtime than a surgical lift — a result that neither liposuction nor non-invasive devices can match on their own.
- Fat removal and meaningful skin tightening in a single procedure
- Firmer, smoother contours for mild-to-moderate laxity without a surgical lift
- A tiny incision that often heals nearly invisibly — no long scars
- Less downtime than excisional surgery, with a faster return to daily life
- Collagen stimulation that continues to firm the skin for months afterward
- The option to combine with liposuction, FaceTite (face/neck), or Morpheus8 for a comprehensive plan
- Long-lasting results when you maintain a stable weight
Beyond the physical, many patients describe meaningful gains in confidence — feeling firmer and more comfortable in their own skin and clothes.
How much does BodyTite cost in Mexico?
BodyTite in Guadalajara is priced individually based on the number and size of the areas treated, whether it is combined with other procedures, anesthesia, and facility fees — and typically costs significantly less than comparable treatment in the U.S. or Canada, even after travel. Because every plan is customized, your exact price is confirmed after your consultation with Dr. Castellanos.
Pricing includes the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, and accredited-hospital facility costs. Treating more areas, or combining BodyTite with liposuction or skin-removal surgery, affects the total, which is why an individualized estimate is confirmed after consultation.
